This small batch American single malt whiskey is a one-two punch. Bottled at 94 proof this whiskey brings a fiery first impression on the nose and taste. The heat subsides quickly to bring forth notes of cinnamon, dried pear, and caramel. The complexity and unique nature of this small batch whiskey lead to a finish of oak, and aged leather. This whiskey teases your taste buds, it is sweet like bourbon and finishes like scotch. I recommend this whiskey neat; adding one or two ice cubes does drastically open up the flavor and takes off some of the initial bite. If you prefer mixed drinks, mixing Stranahan’s Original with clear sodas is the ultimate pairing.
