Vikings vs. Panthers Player Prop Picks – Week 4

Minnesota Vikings vs. Carolina Panthers Player Props

The Minnesota Vikings visit the Carolina Panthers this Sunday. The Vikings have proven to have a terrific passing offense despite being 0-3. The Vikings have a weak running game, which appears to be limiting the overall success of the team and makes them one-dimensional. The Vikings have not been able to close out games, losing three straight close games while having such a strong offense has got to be frustrating. Could that hurt them? Find out in my Vikings vs. Panthers player props, odds, and more!

The Panthers had some success with Andy Dalton under center in their Week 3 contest against the Seattle Seahawks. Dalton took care of the ball and did not throw any interceptions in the two games that he has played. This game should be an offensive battle, with both teams having to air it out to stay competitive.

Let’s get into my Vikings vs. Panthers player props.

Vikings vs. Panthers Player Props

Justin Jefferson Over Receiving Yards (Waiting for odds to be released)

Justin Jefferson is averaging 153 YPG, nothing seems to be slowing him down. Kirk Cousins has been immensely effective at feeding him the ball. Surprisingly the Panthers passing defense will be the toughest the Vikings have faced so far this season.

The Panthers have the 9th-ranked passing defense, allowing an average of 216 passing YPG. The Panthers have the 27th-ranked rushing defense, and if the Vikings are able to successfully run the ball, this could open up the passing game even more. I believe the chemistry between Cousins and Jefferson will be insurmountable, and Jefferson will have a big game.

Just look at the three games Jefferson has played so far, his worst game was a 149-yard performance against the Chargers.

Kirk Cousins Over Passing Yards (Waiting for odds to be released)

If Jefferson has a big game, so will Cousins. Depending on the odds, taking the over on Cousins’ passing yards is a strong bet. The Vikings rank second in passing, averaging 358 YPG. Cousins is also the overall passing leader through week 3, with 1075 passing yards total. Also, if the Vikings cannot run the ball again on Sunday, this will force Cousins to pass more and more, further adding to his passing yards upside.

The Panthers let Geno Smith throw for 296 yards, one TD, and one INT. I believe Cousins and Jefferson are a much more threatening duo than Smith and Metcalf. Cousins will be able to eclipse 300 yards easily.

Andy Dalton or Bryce Young Over Passing Yards (Waiting for odds to be released)

If Andy Dalton is under center in Week 4 against the Vikings, he should have no trouble hitting his over on yards. The Vikings passing defense has been questionable and has allowed 273 YPG and is ranked 24th.

Andy Dalton and Adam Thielen appear to be developing some chemistry, and the veteran Thielen raked in 145 yards, and one TD, on 11 receptions against the Seahawks in Week 3. I believe it is valuable to a fantasy football and player prop betting perspective to have a QB/WR duo develop strong chemistry, adding to the upside on Dalton’s passing yards, while also adding value to Thielen’s upside too.

If Bryce Young starts week 4, I still recommend the over on passing yards. The Vikings have not proven they can stop anyone in the passing game.
