Week 4 proved to be lucrative if you have been following my NFL bets and predictions. Through week 4 my bets against the spread are currently at 9/12, or 75%. My success rate would be higher if not for key injuries derailing my picks. Let’s keep this momentum going through week 5!
Looking at this matchup between AFC North rivals, I am basing my pick solely on which team has the better quarterback. This matchup between the Ravens and Steelers has a huge disparity between Lamar Jackson and Mitchell Trubisky. Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett went down with a knee injury in the 3rd quarter against the Texans in week 4.
Division rivalry games are always difficult to gauge, but with the Steelers starting Trubisky it becomes a little easier. Read my prediction, pick, and odds on this week 5 matchup below.

Ravens Vs. Steelers Prediction
The Ravens won convincingly against the Browns in week 5, putting up 28 points and holding the Browns to 3. It is worth noting, the Browns were without Deshaun Watson, and started rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson (DTR). The Ravens defense is ranked 7th in both passing and rushing yards, allowing an average of 92.5 rushing YPG and 203 passing YPG. Lucky for the Ravens, they face another backup quarterback in week 5.
Unfortunately for the Steelers they will be playing with their backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. When Pickett went down in the 3rd quarter the Steelers were already down 23-6 to the Texans. Trubisky was unable to get any more points on the scoreboard for the remainder of the game. In 2022 Trubisky played 7 games, threw for 1252 yards, 4 TDs, and 5 INTs. Not good. The Ravens should have no problem controlling the Steelers offense and limiting production from Trubisky.
Lamar Jackson against the Browns in week 4, played his best game since his MVP season. Jackson threw for 186 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs. Jackson also rushed for 27 yards and 2 TDs. This was Vintage Lamar Jackson, who appears to be heating up as well as the rest of the Ravens team. Keep in mind, the Ravens’ offense went up against the #1 ranked Browns defense, and apparently had no issues scoring and moving the ball. This does not bode well for the Steelers in week 5. My bet is Ravens -4.5. The QB disparity is huge, and this is a matchup between a Ravens team with all the momentum and a struggling Steelers team.
