Houston Texans vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction, Pick, Odds

The Houston Texans face off against the Atlanta Falcons on October 8th in Georgia. The Texans and C.J. Stroud has been sensational so far this season. Stroud is ranked 4th in passing yards this season, with a total of 1212 yards, 6 TDs, and 0 INTs. Wide receivers Nico Collins and Nathaniel Dell have also been surprisingly effective. The Texans are coming off of a convincing victory over the Steelers, winning 30-6.

The Atlanta Falcons have been running the ball, a lot. This could be due to an ineffective passing game from Desmond Ridder, who has been struggling so far this season. Bijan Robinson has been their bell cow running back, racking up highlights but no TDs on season yet. The Falcons are coming off a tough loss to the Jaguars in London, losing 23-7. The Falcons were stagnant on offense the entire game and critical mistakes from Ridder proved to be too much to overcome. Read my prediction, pick, and best odds for this matchup between the Texans and Falcons below.

Texans vs. Falcons Prediction

The Falcons have not been able to pass the ball effectively. Desmond Ridder has not played well, and has thrown for 744 yards, 3 TDs, and 3 INTs so far this season. The Falcons have been relying heavily on their run game, with Bijan Robinson rushing for 318 yards so far this season, interestingly enough Robinson has not found the end zone yet. The Texans have the 19th ranked rushing defense, allowing an average 117 YPG. If the Falcons can capitalize on a mediocre run defense, they may be able to control the clock and minimize any critical mistakes Ridder makes.

The Falcons have the 3rd ranked passing defense, allowing an average of 187 YPG. The Texans rank 3rd in passing, averaging 305 YPG. This will be the key matchup, if the Falcons can limit the passing attack from Stroud and the Texans they have a shot at winning this game.  The Texans have all the momentum and are gaining confidence each week. The Falcons are on a skid, and losing confidence in Ridder each week. I believe the Texans will win this game, and Stroud will continue his hot streak and have another great day passing.
