The Arizona Cardinals were beat up by the Rams in week 6, losing 26-9 in LA. The Rams were able to run the ball effectively against the Cardinals, Kyren Williams had 158 yards and 1 TD. The Rams were able to stall out Josh Dobbs in the passing game, holding him to 235 yards passing, 0 TDs, and 1 INT. 

The Seahawks are coming off of a disappointing loss to the Bengals in week 6, losing 17-13. Geno Smith was able to move the ball up and down the field, but was unable to connect with any receiver in the end zone. Smith ended the game with 323 yards passing, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs.

This is a tough game to make a prediction on, but I have a solid prediction. Read my prediction, pick, and best bet below.

Cardinals vs. Seahawks Prediction

The Seahawks are favored in this game by 7.5 points. Essentially Vegas oddsmakers are thinking this game will be a blowout. Looking at the stats, the Seahawks are ranked 5th in rushing defense, allowing an average of 79 YPG. However, they are ranked 29th in passing defense, allowing an average of 281 YPG.

The Cardinals rank 6th in rushing offense, averaging 141 YPG. In the passing game they are ranked 28th, averaging 202 YPG. Cardinals running back James Connor is on IR after a knee injury against the Bengals. He has been their leading rusher up to this point. Dobbs ran the ball more against the Rams to make up for the lack of production from the other Cardinals’ running backs. 

Statistically, both offenses are close to equal. On the defensive side, the Seahawks have a significant advantage with their rushing defense. I expect Josh Dobbs to have a solid game, most quarterbacks have found success against the Seahawks. The true difference maker here will be if the Cardinals can establish a running game. Against the Rams the Cardinals’ leading rusher was Dobbs. This may need to happen again for the Cardinals to stay in this game. 

I believe the Cardinals will be able to keep this game close, and cover the spread of +7.5. I believe the Seahawks lack the offense to blow out a team by 10 points or more, (except the Giants). My bet is the Cardinals +7.5.
