Atlanta Falcons vs. Arizona Cardinals Prediction, Pick, Odds

I was 3/3 on my picks against the spread last week. I have now won 18 bets, and lost 9! Let’s keep this momentum rolling into week 10.

Breaking news in Arizona, Kyler Murray is expected to start for the Cardinals this Sunday. This adds an interesting wrinkle to my prediction this week. The Cardinals are coming off of a shutout 27-0 loss to the Browns. The Cardinals have only 1 win this season (against the Cowboys of all teams), and are desperately looking for an offensive boost. Hopefully Kyler Murray can provide the spark this team needs.

Quarterback Joshua Dobbs hopped off the plane, introduced himself to the Vikings offense, and went out and beat the Falcons 31-28. This is an incredible story for Dobbs and the Vikings, for the Falcons, this is a nightmare of reality and a testament to the Falcons’ season overall. The Falcons are always a tough prediction. This team has a lot of talent, but it is rarely utilized. Head coach Arthur Smith refuses to play to his team’s strengths in critical moments. The wild card here is Smith, if the Falcons stick to their run game and play smart, they should win this game, but this far into the season they have failed to do so. Read my Falcons vs. Cardinals prediction, pick, and odds below.

Falcons vs. Cardinals Prediction

The Falcons are able to stay in games with their defense. The defense is ranked 6th overall, allowing an average 304 yards per game. The Falcons did switch to quarterback Taylor Heinicke, who proved to be about the same as Desmond Ridder. I would give Heinicke a slight edge on turnovers. Heinicke threw for 268 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception against the Vikings. Besides one big play from Jonnu Smith and a goal line touchdown from Tyler Allgeier, the Falcons offense resorted to 6 field goals from Younghoe Koo. This offense struggles to get the ball in the endzone, but still manages to keep games close with their defense.

The Cardinals had 58 total yards of offense against the Browns in week 9. Quarterback Clayton Tune started for the Cardinals, and was unable to get anything going offensively. The return of Kyler Murray is desperately needed. The Cardinals’ defense ranks 24th, allowing an average of 352 yards per game. The Browns have a weak offense, and were able to rack up 326 yards of total offense. This is my deciding factor for this matchup. Even though the Falcons refuse to use their offensive playmakers, they will have met their match with the Cardinals’ defense. The Cardinals defense makes every offense look elite. I also expect Kyler Murray to be rusty and not in game shape yet as well as facing a tough Falcons’ defense; I am picking the Falcons moneyline -112. This game is a pick’em, so I am taking the moneyline.
