Week 6 is here, and my success rate with bets against the spread is 11/16 or 69%. Two of my picks last week (Texans and Ravens) did not pan out. Both teams had uncharacteristically bad offensive performances. Let’s keep the ball rolling and make some money on this Patriots vs. Raiders week 6 matchup.

This week we are looking at the New England Patriots vs. the Las Vegas Raiders. This game is on Sunday October 15, in Las Vegas. Overall, this game will be a slog, both offenses struggle scoring. Patriots quarterback Mac Jones and Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo have almost identical stats through week 5 (this will change slightly after Monday night football). Both teams have respectable passing defenses, which will limit production from both middling quarterbacks. It is tough to decide which team will pull off a win. Patriots vs. Raiders Prediction

Mac Jones has been struggling, which is actually downplaying how bad the Patriots’ offense has been the last couple of weeks.  In week 4, the Patriots lost 38-3 to the Cowboys. The Patriots had 253 yards of total offense and Mac Jones threw for 0 TDs and 2 INTs.  In week 5 the Patriots lost to the Saints 34-0. The Patriots did even worse against the Saints. They had 156 yards of total offense. Mac Jones threw for 0 TDs and 2 INTs again. The Patriots appear to be falling apart right now. 

The Raiders are also not playing well through 5 weeks. The Raiders have been keeping their games relatively close, losing 23-18 against the Steelers in week 3, and 24-17 to the Chargers in week 4. The Raiders tend to start games fast, jumping out to an early lead and then finding some way to lose the game. The Raiders play the Packers tonight on Monday night, this game will help us better understand the health of Davante Adams and Jimmy Garoppolo. Adams is fighting a shoulder injury and recent news is saying he will play against the Packers. Garoppolo is injury prone and if he makes through Monday night healthy, this will bode well for the Raiders against the Patriots in week 6. 

This game will be close but I give a slight edge to the home team. The Raiders offense is better than the Patriots and has more potential for big momentum changing plays, especially if Garoppolo and Adams play on Sunday. My picks for the Patriots vs. Raiders matchup is either Raiders -3, or Raiders -155.
